"At Be Yoga, I trained in ISHTA Yoga. An acronym for the Integrated System of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda, ISHTA fosters teaching that combines a transformative experience of breath and flowing asana (vinyasa) with anatomically-based alignment for a safe, supportive exploration of breath and body. Tantric philosophy and Ayurvedic principles create a practice that is sensitive to the individual’s needs, encouraging each student to find their own yoga with acceptance, curiosity and joy. I blend challenging asana with “opening” or restorative poses to create well-balanced classes that integrate physical awareness, strength-building, flexibility, humor, mindfulness and relaxation. Level-appropriate inclusion of yogic philosophy, pranayama and meditation broaden the practice and offer an accessible introduction to its transcendent aspects. With over 4 years and 1,000 hours of teaching experience in everything from “power yoga” to brand-new beginners, I love aiding all practitioners in finding their yoga, breath by breath and moment by moment. I continue to work closely with my primary teacher Alan Finger, assisting him in creating new programs and lectures, which provides me with an amazing opportunity for continuous learning and insight from a master teacher. Finally, my background in the arts, world religion and science and my ongoing studies with today’s top teachers ensure I am always bringing new ideas and inspiration to my students!"
